When you magically declare something a law without going through a legislative process, it isn’t a law.. Therefore the existing laws were broken.

the use of the word "law" here is misleading. this wasn't a law, but rather a procedural action within an already established law. mail in voting, either the creation of it or banning of it would be a "law", changing the procedures of that act aren't. they're within the discretion of the electoral body of that state. dates they must be received by, and when they're counted, aren't universally a matter of law afaik. and that's what happened here.

in any case it was DOA because no state can sue another state without grounds to do so, and mad Texans didnt have any grounds to sue as they can't claim damage from this event.

as history often repeats itself this is nothing but a mirror of the 2000 election and hanging chads. Florida encounter an issue, and Jeb & co. made a call that won his brother the state. them's the breaks.

One (many) would argue that changing the outcome of the presidential election is considered a damage. This has been heated to death over and over again so there is no need to get into all of the ways the lawsuit would have fallen apart if it was actually picked up but you have to be able to see it how many others did.

slippery slope friend.

i'm against the lawsuits trump now faces? why? lack of damage grounds in the filing. a slew of banks give trump loans based on the values he placed on properties, they allegedly didnt do their fiduciary duties to vet those values, trump pays them back with interest, and gets sued by a 3rd party. where's the damage? it's red tape nonsense.

our legal system rests on a few important pillars, but the most crucial one is you hurt me i sue you. no 3rd parties, or the system unravels. the system is complex enough, some of these lawsuits issued by both sides have very scary precedence moving forward. we're out here putting sniper scopes on .22's lately.

Clear majority but I still have the feeling these dividing topics are hidding some real issues like inequalities, education, or healthcare.

I believe the banks missed out on over 100 million in interest… ie damages
