to put you graph into perspective:
there are 37,000 Catholic priests in the us, and 6.7 million public school emplyees. 201/37000 = 0.5% of priests are abusing minors per year 29000/6.7 million = 0.4% of teachers are abusing minors per year.

yes, both cases of child abusers need extreme punishment

the issue is reporting.

when you report a sexual misconduct claim to a school district it's reported to the police immediately, and the teacher is prosecuted, fired, etc.

when you report a sexual misconduct claim to a church it's in many cases pushed under the rug. the priest will be relocated and sent to seminary to pray away his desires.

more people need to go to the cops, rather than the church, to report. lets the cops handle it, not some weirdo who thinks it's normal for men to have no wife their whole life.

weird thing is though you always lose your shit when abuse in chruch gets brought up.

i don't agree that pedos should be locked up and prosecuted, they should be hung in the town square. a 10 year sentence costs the tax payer hundreds of thousands of dollars with zero chance for rehabilitation in almost all cases. a few meters of rope costs the father 10$.
