I live in NYS in a district that hasn't voted red in 100 years. I hear more people now that say "Trump tells it like it is" versus 3 years ago. A centrist might steal middle America from Trump, a coastal socialist darling would get destroyed.

what topics do you talk to them about? where does he actually 'tell it like it is'?

not that your anecdotal evidence had any meaning in the first place, but i'd still like to know what topics are so impactful that people simply ignore all of his lies and failings and come to the hilarious conclusion that he's a truth teller...

You're not in a small town that is dying and watching the community turning to addicted zombies

the same people the Democrats forgot about the Republicans are now arrogantly forgetting. Trump didn't help, tough guy talk didn't help, pissing on and off liberals didn't help

Republicans on the outskirts of these areas toot the Trump horn and enjoy using maga memes but the same people that have always been hurting are hurting worse under Trump. Doesn't mean he won't win again but get confused he hasn't done shit for areas or people he promised to save

Remember this when Trump is served a slice of humble pie just like the Democrats were

These trade wars are hurting people that were already hurting.
The addictions are rising suicide is rising people are still losing when they were promised wins
Jobs in these areas aren't coming back

Keep on tooting his horn. Go ahead. Keep repeating how awesome it is out there

He's just another person that over promised and under performed

that's just the way it is

and they might just hold him accountable for it

because republicans in particular have been conditioned for decades to connect anything that involves the term 'socialism' with failed states, famines, communism... that way the propagandists just have to fearmonger about it and the unintelligent masses will ignore the massive benefits of democratic socialism and keep voting for the puppets of their corporate overlords.

The first two points are a byproduct of the good economy. For which Trump has to get some, but not all the credit.
More minorities and women in positions of power is simply the result of pre-existing trends progressing, in spite rather than because of Trump.
The economy holding up quite well despite the negative global trend is something to which Trump and his tax reform have contributed. But the other side of the coin is that Trump has also significantly contributed to those worsening global trends.

Trump currently is risking to break down the great economy which his polices had helped to create/extend in the first place.

Here we go again, when in doubt circle back to the muh opression Olympics.

The trade war is hurting massive businesses and corporations the most who are looking at shrinking margins because it will cost more with tariffs to import their products. The modern-day farmers that have mega farms were not hurting by any means considering much of their production is government subsidized before the tariffs. Didn't know you care so much about mega-corporations and large scale farms. Is this what modern day socialism looks like?

when you say "democratic socialism", do you mean what is known as "social democratic policies" in Europe, or do you really mean the term in the sense of "socializing all means of production"?
