Can we just imagine for a second, any other president doing something like this? Had Obama done this, what would your reaction be?

trump has long shattered any standards of what is considered acceptable and appropriate behaviour for a president, just one more area in which he damaged the office permanently - and his mindless followers couldn't care less.
they will clutch their pearls again when a dem says something that offends them, but that massive double standard is also nothing new.

It won't get worse as far as optics go and public behavior at least not from the winners

Some Republicans will try but fail miserably as they have already done to mimic Trump's personality and behavior. It won't work

Democrats had their savior with Obama and Republicans with Trump. There won't be any more Obamas or Trumps anytime soon

the exception being if Trump's kids go for it, specifically Jr and Ivanka the only two that can keep the cult together but it would be entirely off daddy's name

You'll see a lot of these old terrible candidates like Graham try and fail but my guess is you'll start seeing candidates like conservative versions of mayor pete start popping up and the Crenshaw types start getting serious about running for President

Biggest mistake of our generation will be the time in our history we didn't embrace and elect Tulsi and Yang. They don't have the mainstream cult appeal of either party but they are by far the greatest candidates for the time and types of candidates we are likely to see

Obama did do that. It wasn't great but it wasn't really a huge deal.
