This was literally just a homeless guy burning a mailbox in front of police so he could get arrested and get free meals on the taxpayer's dime. It happens all the time.
Meanwhile in Mesa someone stole ballots, filled them out, forged signatures, returned them, and they were counted and went into the pile of anonymous ballots.

One of these is a clear example of voter fraud exploiting the lax security of mail-in ballots. The other is an example of the lax security of mail-in ballots being subject to random and unintentional tampering.

Nowadays people don't care bout integrity or the rules as long as it benefit them or their feelings. We live in a weird timeline where people believe men can get pregnant. The downside of freedom of speech and participation trophies i guess.

Conceptually mail-in ballots simply cannot be secure. I don't think its within our technological capabilities right now, at least definitely not with paper

The best case scenario is we can have tamper-evident ballots. Someone intercepts the ballots, fills them out, turns them in- they get counted, but we know they were stolen. Great, we know fraud happened. Maybe we can catch the perpetrator, maybe we can't. It still influences the election results. There's no way to verify how many ballots were stolen or how they were flipped. If the election is within that margin, we can't treat the results as valid.
Someone destroys the ballots before they are received. Maybe we know it happens, maybe we can have them recast in time. Most likely we can't, if it happens close to election day. Maybe we can catch the guy, maybe we can't.
But its also very easy for fraud to simply go undetected. No way to know how many ballots are stolen and cast but not reported. No way to know how many illegal aliens are on the voter rolls,


So hit me with the ideas. How do you actually make vote-in mailing secure. Not just to detect it after it happened and say, oh, too bad, nothing we can do.

It should be noted that America's voting system contributes to the issue. If you didn't have elections of national importance frequently coming down to ~10k votes or less, these vulnerabilities of mail-in ballots wouldn't be a concern.
