so apparently there was an attempted mass shooting at a synogague in san diego just now
I'm getting the news in real time so I'm not 100% on the details yet, but it sounds like it was an orthodox synagogue, and the attacker was a far-right extremist in the vein of brenton tarrant and left behind a manifesto about white extinction and whatnot (and calling Trump a 'zionist jew-loving race-traitor cocksucker' or something thereabouts). However it sounds like the synagogue's parishoners were armed and returned fire, and after a shootout the attacker was detained and arrested. There's no firm casualty report but sounds like 4 injured, 0 killed, shooter in custody. But that's initial reports

I'm getting a lot more reports saying that indeed the synagogue takes its security very seriously and had an armed presence, and they engaged the shooter immediately
unconfirmed on casualties but here's hoping for 0 killed 0 injured so the attacker can also be brought to justice.

America shouldn't be a place where places of worship need armed security. Despicable.

Just to mention it: in France, most synagogues have been guarded by armed soldiers for many years.
