any reasons? because they can produce it cheaper than in the US, and they have a long term deal with the Venezuelans. in Ven and Rus the environmental regulations, worker compensation, and land price is tiny compared to the US. Both Rus and Ven are far less diverse economies and can specialize more to drive price down as well as the GDP being lower across the board so they can handle a far lower natural price floor.

Well, atm, we don't even know if Venezuela is gonna continue to exist much longer.

venezuala is a tertiary factor. they're #11. russia is #2. and produces 5x as much. and Ven is only one of Rus's oil producing allies.
