When it is all said and done, it will be the metric we're all rated on.

maybe, but that's entirely irrelevant to my point. i just explained to you why it's a shitty metric NOW, since that was your original 'argument':

Your death rate crept up to 6.79%, and ours crept up to 1.92%.

200 thousand deaths they say. I have a funny feeling it will end up being substantially less and Trump will claim his actions stopped the 200 + death toll.

Fake new, professor Ghot planned 20k deaths max.

One criticism I have of reporters at these press conferences... they should be directing almost all questions to Fauci, Birx, Pence, and others. Trump has shown himself to not understand what is going on. He's given bad information time and time again. Instead of anti-Trump pundits calling for networks to not air the press conferences, they should ask reporters there to do their best to ignore the president and question others.

So basically the Imperial College study projections that right-wingers pooh-poohed have been adopted by the White House.

The University of Washington models projects ~84,000 US deaths.

200k would be an extraordinary effort, we’ll see about that

You have a shitty memory.

Current fatality rate of 1.26% and tied with China, Germany, and South Korea in 2 deaths per million population. I'm willing to agree we will get worse on deaths per million population because we can neither go full-lockdown like China, nor actively trace the tens to hundreds of thousands of suspected contacts like South Korea did from early on. But our healthcare is perfectly fine.

Dont worry Santara said it will never be like France, so it will never be a quote in my sig...

The death rate? It won't.

...so I really can't be asked to give a fuck what's relevant to YOUR point. You can see quite clearly from my posts that I acknowledge this will get worse, and simultaneously contend that our death rate won't be like France's. The only thing that is going to answer that original contention by me is time, which is not NOW.

Question to my cultist friends: What does more damage, a doctor going onto Hannity saying this to millions, or a mistaken CNN fact check on a minor point and CBS using a mistaken image?

It's a rhetorical question.

Sure, there were only 2 days (on day II and day XII, strangely) where I felt that this infection was affecting my lungs. But I could always take deep breaths and also hold them.

In general, this was a very weird infection curve. No fever, no pain in the joints, no running nose, only a dry and tenacious cough. On the first two days, I also had the typical feeling of sickness that you get during a viral infection. In general this thing came in waves. A good day followed a bad day, a couple of hours with nothing going on at all were followed by a couple of hours of persistent coughing, etc. The most strange thing was that the worst days came only 2 weeks in, last friday and saturday, on days XII and XIII of the disease.

I'm in my early 30s with no pre-condtions though, so the progression I had probably falls on the more severe side for someone with my demographic parameters.

look at the post i replied to, which obviously is the one i quoted: in that you clearly compare CURRENT death rates, trying to make an argument. moving the goal post now doesn't change the FACT that it was a shitty point to make for all the reasons i explained.

it's so cringy that you can't just admit it that it was a bad argument and move on, that you have to create some alternative reality in order to act like it wasn't. hmmm... who does that remind me of?

*pro tip: current rates are the only ones we've got. I haven't moved any goals, and have been consistent in my assertion. We aren't going to be as bad as France.
