I'm not convinced at all. Biden's political instincts only seem to be great when hiding in his basement is a winning strategy.

The claim that it's "Amazing how folks still distrust Biden's political instincts no matter how many times he's proven right" is ludicrous. The guy got clobbered in his two previous presidential runs, his greatest legislative achievement is a disastrous crime bill which created a ton of injustice, his antics during the Thomas-confirmation/Anita Hill saga provided the GOP with the soundbites to shrug off criticism of their Kavanaugh and Barrett nominations, he was emphatically on the wrong side of history on the Iraq war, and most important of all: Biden went into the 2020 primary as the clear-cut front-runner and then almost lost the nomination to a Bernie who wasnt even in his strongest form. ("Labour Bernie" in 2016 was far more compelling than "Woke Bernie" in 2020.)
Biden almost let the nomination which was his slip through his fingers because he just ran such an anemic campaign. He didnt display good political instincts, and had to rely on Clyburn and Obama rallying the party behind him to eke it out. Likewise, he benefitted a ton during the general election campaign from the fact that staying subdued and letting Trump self-destruct happened to be a winning strategy. And then again, Biden allowed Trump to get far closer to pulling it off again than he had any right to. Given the candidates, Trump's track record, his huge fumbles on the pandemic and all the circumstances, this election should have been a blowout instead of a nail-biter. Starting out with a big lead and all structural and circumstancial factors in his favor and then letting Trump get within 0.7% of yet another EC victory is not indicative of good political instincts, it's indicative of Biden being a lucky bastard.
