I'm being serious here - I think you may have a mental health issue. Your "betters"? Son, there's always someone better. You're better than me at saying really stupid irrelevant shit all day, but is that something to which one should aspire? I don't think so, but hey, it's your life.

So let me get this straight. The red flags in this case were;

• He behaved oddly including wearing a full hazmat suit to class
  
• He murdered and decapitated a cat, and his mother knew and helped him bury it.
  
• The day before the shooting, he left a friend multiple boxes of ammunition unsolicited.
  
• He told school officials that he wanted to commit murder at or after his graduation, then commit suicide. After which he was held at a mental health evaluation for a day and a half. He was not charged, and police did not seek an order to remove guns from him, nor was he involuntarily committed.
  
• His discord was public and could have been investigated by officials to see if he was a threat, and his chat logs detailed his plans to livestream a mass shooting, staking out Tops, other targets he considered, describing his animal torture and mutilation and mental health hold and his weapons.

Based on this, there were clear signs that warranted an investigation, and public-but-not-known signs that detailed his immediate threat and would warrant arrest / counterterrorism operations to stop him.
Despite the existence of liberal red flag laws that would allow for preventing legal gun purchases on suspicion alone, even though that's blatantly unconstitutional, no such red flag was put up against him.

Too many crazies in this world to successfully keep tabs and lock up simply based on some signals. Idk personally I'm skeptical of the authorities abilities on this. Nor do I necessarily think moving in the Minority Report type reality is the right thing either.
