as he should, it was always a short sighted idea that had terrible cost/benefit analysis.
even if the wall was 100 feet tall, 50 feet deep, and has drones to shoot down people or demolish tunnels it wouldnt do much but force people to go the canada route or jump into shipping containers and enter one of thousands of ports.
the wall stops some real % of entry, its just that (for random numbers) it stops like 10% incurs far too great a cost.
its like my dads house, he had his basement flood and spent a few grand to seal the walls from the outside. it slowed the leaks, but he still has standing water in a hard rain. eventually he just took everything out of the basement and said fuck it. water finds the path of least resistance. only solution would be to build a pond in his yard to catch the water. thats what we should do with mexico.
I agree. Saying, ya know, WE’RE GOING TO SECURE THE BORDER, sounds good, right. In fact, other politicians have said they wanted to do this. However, like you said, you have to analyze the pros & cons, the risk versus reward, costs versus benefits. I’d like to see some hard data on it, I know the border crossings were down under the Trump admin, but how much, & was it worth the reported $15 Billion the government allocated for constructing The mythical Wall...

I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know, but I would imagine that’s [obviously] infinitely easier said then done. Albeit where’s there’s a will, there’s a way
