Is this just for tankie Or is this your answer for all gender variation?

hot take alert

i've felt for a long time that attention seeking levels in the individual are a relevant factor in choosing between cross dressing and transitioning.

to really only address the first sentence, admittedly: what do you personally think of the commonly held viewpoint by many middle aged gay men and women that trans rights trajectory is too steep, and that LGBTQ acceptance generally isn't worth it to many that preferred a counter culture existence?

I could link some, but some named examples would be Eddie Izzard on JRE and Scott Thompson on Your Mom's House Podcast. but i've heard it a LOT.

It's cool. I'm aware of the opinion and I disagree emphatically.
It generally comes from relatively privileged queer people who don't face the issues a lot of trans people do in getting employment, housing, appropriate healthcare etc.

that doesn't seem to fit either of the examples i've listed. izzard and thompson both faced heavy discrimination and threats of violence in their careers. and both lived through the aids crisis and would likely laugh at your assertion they ever got appropriate healthcare during that time. gay men in the 80s had it far harder than trans people in the 2010s. i'd hope on that much we could agree.

Privileged queer people that are the age where when they were your age they lived terrified of being outed for both career and family rejection? The ones that survived the aids crisis when it was fucking terrifying in the shadows because people couldn't even talk about it?

Yea. They faced those issues and because they overcame them they feel that anyone can. It's the old bootstraps mentality.

Honestly it depends on where you are with regards to 'how hard' people have it. I'd say a trans person born into a conservative family that disowns them who ends up homeless and becomes sex worker as so many do probably has it about as hard. A trans person born into an accepting family has far more opportunities.

I suppose overall that it is more likely that your family will be accepting to a trans person now than a gay person in the 80s but that really only applies to the youngest trans people.

So overall probably... But on a case by case basis it could vary.

Yea. Privileged queer people who are now doing well for themselves.
If you have overcome oppression to be financially stable and have a supportive community around you you are relatively privileged compared to someone who hasn't reached those conditions.

That's why I used the term 'relatively' by the way.

Also snipa says unblock him cos ur just repeating him.

What makes you think getting attacked and having a brain hemorrhage was his goal? Because the attacks are receiving widespread attention and condemnation?

also do you realize how comments like this make you look?

Why do you imagine you know his goals if you didn't even know who he was until you heard of this attack?
I doubt you studied relentlessly to inform yourself in the past 2 days.
