Him having the balls to say what he thinks without a filter was certainly one of the reasons he won. It also helped that most of that time what he was saying was true.

I don't think the McCain think is as big as you're making it out to be though. Nobody really likes that guy. Many view him as a total loser. I think him getting away with calling for a shutdown to Muslim immigration as well as the "grab them by the pussy" tape was more significant.

The attack against a man largely regarded as a war hero and true patriot by a draft dodging reality tv personality threw a wrench into everything we mostly thought we knew when it comes to politics

It showed a hypocrisy, blindness and cowardliness on a reliable voting right that the Democrats could not combat especially with a hated establishment female in the lead

When the reliable party that uses patriotism as a weapon completely excuses a man without honor for attacking one of our most honorable on the political stage about his capture that lead to years of torture and lifelong consequences for this country that is the moment in time when the waters cleared

lol it must be a really slow day on CNN

Trump being braggadocious was to be expected not sure what the big deal here is. Did he remove all sanctions from NK, did he urge others to do so? So why are you all up in arms about a tweet once again?

Uhhh... you think the president declaring North Korea no longer a nuclear threat is not newsworthy? You seem to have a warped version of TDS... where you pretend nothing the president says matters. I take him seriously... you should too.

You think the only way the maximum pressure campaign goes away is by Trump asking it to? Trump making this proclamation just plays into Kim's hand... he gave him legitimacy with the summit, Kim hasn't signed any rock solid commitment to give up his nukes, and now the American president says NK isn't a nuclear threat. I don't see how that helps us.

Helping them on an international stage is a bit of a vague idea.

I don't think users like ofthevoid, endlesssky, excellence, EA7, xaos, djman, etc can control these type of posts any more than someone controls their leg popping up when the doctor hits their knee with a rubber hammer. anti-anti-trumpers are a real thing. their ideas are more reflex than logic, they desire a steady supply of liberal tears and don't really care for anything resembling logic. the irony is these supposed fact based posters have figured out that simply saying they only use facts and that liberals (whatever they need that term to mean) are anti-logic, because it generally gets them more net tears.

there were a few users that i use to actually think a bit of, recently they've proven they were always morons or love playing the part. not excellence, he's been a tear farmer from the second he joined the sub, which has never failed to fill his quota.

will look for your response later on the topic!

When you have two years of material to work with from Trump most sensible people understand that he often speaks in hyperbole and his tweets are walked back...like a lot, whether it's trade, foreign policy, pretty much everything.

Focus on policy not optics.

lel anti logic.

What's illogical is that we have an established modus operandi for Trump and his use of social media meanwhile you simpletons take everything so literally and start foaming at the mouth about hyperbole. Stop hinging on every single one of Trumps tweets and look past the show.

ahhh yes the old "you idiots" generalization, breaking up a conversation in which i say that not only is Trump's tweeting on North Korea largely empty words, but that it may also serve everyone's purpose, and/or may not reflect what happens in the end.

you're being hyperbolic and bias confirming yourself here. Yahoonews are the literal ones, they write whole op-ed pieces on a single word choice from a 5 part tweet just for clicks (that i've linked this morning you dolt) . Icemage, and really anyone who doesn't like the optics trump creates, focus on a small number of his total tweets. if its your opinion that optics dont matter at all then frankly youre an idiot. i think what you're trying to say is that optics matter less than policy, ok, but there is a line that Trump dances on objectively. and how much optics matter is situational and even subjective.

You've argued here before that Trump's threatening rhetoric is a big reason why North Korea came to the table.

Consistency... not even once.

Yeah... that's pretty accurate. That's why I call it a cult... many of them don't have authentic beliefs, truth is whatever the dear leader says.

You're not being coherent here and frankly are creating an argument out where there really wasn't one.

Trump being hyperbolic is fact. Trump being braggadocious on twitter is fact. Trump walking back his claims on Twitter happens like twice a day. What's illogical is to dissect his tweets and extract some inherent absolute truth from the when it's been proven over and over that most of the time it's just hyperbole or empty words.

What exactly is illogical about my assertion?

It certainly is. You being one dimensional and not grasping that these two assertions are not mutually exclusive leads you to think he has to be taken 100% serious or nothing he says is serious.

the fact that no one is really doing the bolded and you consistently simplify anything and everything to that to find your perspective?

and the whole thing icemage just knocked you the fuck out with.

for starters.

that thing you're claiming Icemage is doing is something we're actively talking about and he consistently changes his opinions as do i after such conversations. just not with shills like you who are not capable of talking credibly because you simplify everything out of laziness or stupidity. maybe you're really busy but can't stop coming back to this sub daily to shitpost. idk
