Private property doesn't mean having stuff. People have stuff whether private property exists or not.
It is staking off a piece of Earth, claiming it is yours and that nobody else can use it. I'm with JJ Rousseau, when he said that the first person who ever roped off land and told his peers they couldn't use it should have been treated with laughter and derision. Because it is laughable really, an absurd notion that an individual can own a river or whatnot. But people pretend they do, and die thinking that river is theirs
