Reports in 2012 suggested the possibility of large natural gas reserves off of Crimea, ranging from 1.2 trillion cubic meters to 3.6 trillion cubic meters, which were not confirmed and considering the US Energy Information Administration, as of January 1, 2022, has stated that Russia's proved natural gas reserves were estimated at 39.6 trillion cubic meters so I don't find that particularly convincing.

Also considering how closely connected their energy infrastructure is, even if Ukraine was to develop these fields it most likely would have been in collaboration with Russia and to both countries benefit.

Life expectancy is a neutral parameter, not an agenda. Russia's internal issues are fucked, it should focus on them first instead of sending more men to war. A country where men dont live past 65 on average is a developing country and is definitely not taking care of its citizens and even invades foreign countries. So, the West is better.

Finland becoming a NATO member actually makes sense. A Western country in Europe with a strong military and high GDP, compare to a poor, corrupt shit hole like Ukraine where oligarchs run the show and a GDP of a couple hundred billion dollars. The only reason NATO wants to reel in Ukraine is because of it's geographic location (getting Ukraine + Crimea = Black Sea control and denying Russia Black Sea control.
