Alvin Bragg is very literally relitigating the 2016 election, in fact his very indictment goes with the legal theory that he can usurp the FEC's authority to litigate the 2016 election and define what is and isn't a federal election crime. And even with over six years of time to develop his charges, with the manhattan DA's office changing hands and taking longer than the development cycle of Tears of the Kingdom to build this case, longer than the statute of limitations- he's finally arrived at a tortured legal theory that 1) is prima facie invalid and violates all precedent and law and so much of the constitution its a miracle he's not trying to quarter soldiers in mar-a-lago and 2) criminalizes all campaigns by everyone, to the point it would be impossible to campaign in the state of new york without being guilty of a felony and 3) when narrowed to actually fit the constitution and precedent, would all too deliciously only apply to Hillary Clinton, not Trump, and from the same election with same allegations


I mean he came up with this diatribe accusing Trump of defrauding voters from knowing the full truth by not disclosing payments to Stormy Daniels. The FEC's irrespective test is clear, and an explicit precedent set in the John Edwards case, Trump doesn't have to disclose that, him fucking a porn star is nunyo bizness. But Hillary Clinton sending a million buckaroos to Fusion GPS to concoct the Steele Dossier was actual opposition research, which has mandatory disclosures which she ignored, and as such she actually defrauded voters and falsified business records to cover it up.

This would be like Mueller coming back after 6 years post the end of the Mueller probe, long after its legal authority expired and the statute of limitations had passed, and accused Trump of overfeeding the koi fish.
I can only pray that Bragg's prosecution fails to tear apart our democracy because it implodes under the weight over its own shameful absurdity
