Do you actually think it is possible to have civilization without war?

I agree with Freud that it is impossible and that mental illness and war have the social contract itself to blame for their existence. Freud considered it the price of animals having to "live calculatedly".

If your view point were to be taken to its limit we could say that abolishing the democratic party would abolish war, but that wouldn't abolish war because there would still be capital, property, markets, law, class, and more.

WWII was a war to see who would dominate the New World Order after the Hapsburgs destroyed each other in WWI and created a worldwide power vacuum that needed to be resolved.

There can never be another Democrat president in there will still be plenty of wars to be fought and killed in. Are you going to live forever? Rot into posterity? There are way worse things than dying in war.

I'm saying that the reasons have more to do with collective psychosis rather than the probable political-economy reasons you will state.

It is also a form of human expression like art and music, just darker.

As Nietzsche would say, the tall tree has very deep roots. There is a part of you that wants to kill everything and fuck everything that moves. Sometimes that feels like the best part, for a whole lot of people...it's in the Id waiting to be activated.

Humans are built to survive Wolly mammoths and saber tooth Tigers. We are hard wired to kill and survive. It is only recently that everything has been connected and controlled by governments. People are less free than they were with no rights living under kings for the facts that everything is surveilled by the sovereign and that sovereigns control life rather than death as in Biopower and state control over human bodies for incarceration, institutionalization, guardianship for incompetancy, public health...

Of course we are fighting wars for stupid reasons, we don't fight them for survival, and the need is there based on the Death Drive alone. Nietzsche also said "Barbarians never committed suicide motherfucker" yet it is pretty common in the most civilized places. Civilization actually sucks.

Is there a Trump cultist who can explain to me what the policy towards North Korea is?

Are they doing the good cop/bad cop thing? Bolton comes in with the most hard-line position, and Trump follows up with the ass-kissing?

Kicking the can down the road while preventing rocket test exercises probably.

I tend to think the North Korean nuclear problem is one Trump is all in on solving.

I tend to think that there's something like a 66% chance that no one and nothing will convince the North Koreans to give up the bomb.

Coupled with a narcissistic president and a hostile media eager to blame him for even the most mundane things, this is not a good situation.

If only the media knew how much damage they do by attacking Trump instead of Kim Jong Un.
