I give a shit.
You should to.
Once enough do we can change it all.
There is still goodness in this world and it is worth fighting for.

You'd fight for making interracial marriages illegal, and homosexuality a criminal offense.... you should lead with that when you give your little Instagram Inspirational quotes.

I don't even hate Biden, I'm just not on board with this phony, manufactured hype train which is clearly being pushed in recent weeks because it's campaign season.

Anyway, the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the IRA both fall almost comically short of the goals set out in this laundry list of goals from his campaign website. Even leaders from his own party say so, lol.
Doesn't mean these bill necessarily go in the wrong direction, but to me, they're textbook examples of overpromise and underdeliver.

The point from this list which might be satisfied the most might actually be "compete in the global economy". I think in hindsight, the CHIPS Act will prove to be a crucial piece of legislation. So that's one kept promise/significant legislative output to Biden's credit. Truth be told, I should have thought of the CHIPS Act earlier.

In those 60 words, what wasn't accomplished? Seems like between the IRA and the BIB he accomplished pretty much everything there. Most of the progressives were upset that the Child Tax Credit didn't get extended, childcare wasn't provided, etc.

People should have been hyped for Biden before IRA was even passed. Before IRA, he was STILL more accomplished than the other Presidents. Admittedly, he's not the most inspiring person by traditional standards.

His bills touch upon the fields mentioned in the 60 words, but nothing more.

Quote
"Infrastructure: Create millions of good, union jobs rebuilding America’s crumbling infrastructure – from roads and bridges to green spaces and water systems to electricity grids and universal broadband – to lay a new foundation for sustainable growth, compete in the global economy, withstand the impacts of climate change, and improve public health, including access to clean air and clean water. Given that the above is 60 words, you probably think that Biden accomplished "Create crumbling roads and water systems."

He hasn't created millions of jobs, let alone "good" or "union" jobs. He hasn't rebuilt America's crumbling infrastructure and Biden's bills are only a drop in the bucket in this regard. A few subsidies for electric cars is not the same as "laying a new foundation [to] withstand the impacts of climate change". "Improve public health" is a promise so vague and unambitious that you won't find a president going back to the 19th century who didn't do that.
