Obama was unbeatable in 2008. I think the fundamentals were so much against republicans in 2008 that not even Reagan could have defeated Hillary in that year.
it didn't matter when it came to the scoreboard yeah, no one was beating Obama in 2008 (doubt anyone would have been in him '12 either), but it matters in perception of a candidate and a politician. go down swinging or just say 'eh whatever im not winning this so i quit'.
