And how is that?

It's astonishing to me that after the GOP has backed up Trump at virtually every venture, including his attempt to steal the election, people like yourself still think they should get voted out for insufficient loyalty. That koolaid is strong as fuck.

for one the 2016 election was won legitimately, no matter how much you eat up the propaganda set forth by foreign powers like the useless traitor you are
two, the senate was held the entire time despite unfavorable battlegrounds everywhere. now the (R)s may lose in the 2021 runoff, but that isn't on Trump

the only battle that was lost was the house which paul ryno (D) helped spur during his betrayal in 2018 . ryno was your kinda guy: a racist an a personal punching bag to joe biden (d), the lifelong politcian who eulogized a kkk member when he was in the executive branch

this stuff is way beyond your comprehension level, so don't be concerned when no one responds to your ridiculous attempt at re-creating the past

So the argument is that literally anything is justified because Trump won the election and Republicans held the Senate? Really?

Yea, we really don't have many data points to work off of unfortunately. 2016, 2018, and 2020 are all that we have and I think it's clear that the GOP benefits a lot if Trump is at the top of the ticket.

Trump exacerbated the midterm losses in 2018. A president who only brings low propensity voters out of the woodworks when he personally is on the ticket, but triggers skyhigh turnout against his party in every election, presidential/midterms/state/special, is not really helping his party too much. Obama had the exact same problem btw.

Let's see if Biden can stop the long-running trend of deteriorating social trust.

No, Biden can't stop it and I'd be shocked if the trends can be reversed. I think the past few weeks have shown just how damaged this country is. Far too many people in this country want to live under a left wing dictatorship or a right wing dictatorship because it would crush the opposition.

Won't happen until Republicans start being interested in governing again, and politicians as a whole stop selling out the middle class because "but the billionaires will leave!"

I think the problem is much much worse than that. We can survive if the GOP is obstructing good governance and we can certainly survive current levels of wealth inequality. What we can't survive is the intense demonization of the other. IMO, the problem is much worse on the right than the left but it cuts both ways. The amount of people who legitimately believe that the election was stolen is far too high.

The demonization is a tool to keep pressure off the powerful. The GOP doesn't target immigrants because they are actually the source of job loss. They target them because they're a scapegoat that can't fight back. The fact is we'll never get our political system back without doing something major. There's no point in using the system when the system is a wholly owned subsidiary of those with opposing views. It's about class, not politics. The things that we should have implemented decades ago like universal healthcare and education reform are massively popular even among Republicans.

The simple fact of the matter is that most people who oppose mass immigration do so out of valid (if occasionally misguided) concerns with respect to culture, crime, and economic opportunity.

You are engaged in political demonization. It is easier to believe that your opponents are secretly dupes of some vast elite conspiracy than engage with them on the concerns they share.
