32 days - what a shame. one way or the other you wouldn't be spewing your clueless propaganda.

the post i've quoted comprehensively proves that you don't have the slightest clue, grandpa. don't hide behind your age to justify your ignorance, that's just despicable.

Yo... I'm really sorry we helped stop Nazi Germany, I can see that this must be bothering you. :/

/e And I can readily see that some kid that wasn't even a gleam in his daddy's eye at the time, knows more about wtf I lived through. :/

stop deflecting, you ignorant old fart. your understanding of vietnam is laughably wrong and you apparently can't be bothered to learn the truth, so why don't you just stfu about things you clearly don't even begin to comprehend?

One more time for the short bus. I was alive and coherent at the time Nam occurred. You weren't.

/e Hell, I was born 3 years after the Korean War. I was 7 years and 11 days old when Kennedy was shot.

plague is right to question ghot about USA being the "only" country to put other countries first.

1. as plague pointed out, military service from around the world have had their lives on the line for others.
they are definitely putting other countries "first" as he's stating.

2. foreign aid would be subject to this as well.

3. i would argue that none of us put others "first". we are all "nations" with sympathy for other "nations" under-going hardship or war.

4. i would also argue that "most" generosity comes at some price in 1 way or another.

the USA "does" have a "major" role in the well-being of other countries though (obviously not all of them)

the fact that you were alive apparently only resulted in you being brainwashed by the war propaganda. like i said in a previous post: it's embarrassing that you never bothered to question it, that you never picked up a history book or watched a documentary that could have helped you to put your simplistic understanding of the vietnam war into context.

When I typed that I was referring to people in this country... like Omar, putting other countries first. I mean we were talking about Omar when I posted that.
I believe I even used the term bleeding heart liberals.

Oh, you must think that documentaries and history books don't have propaganda in them.

my apologies, you were. i withdraw numbers 2-3-4. those are meant from a nationalist stand-point.
number 1 still stands, which is the point plague made.

a good number of people in the USA "do" put other countries first.
i am sure we are not the only country to have people that feel that way though. (even if their nation doesn't)

certainly significantly less than whatever 'informed' your opinion on vietnam. you are so offensively clueless that you're making your whole environment dumber with your ignorance.

start here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_War#Background

follow the links to the sources. read. your mind will be blown, i guarantee it.

My mind's already blown. You actually think that the information in Wiki... (anyone can edit) is... more accurate than watching the leaders of South Vietnam begging the US to help them, LIVE on TV.
This includes all those after the fact sources.

The reason half the US was violently opposed to the US being in Vietnam was that they felt that South Vietnam's problem wasn't enough reason to have to send our kids to war.

I realize that to you, secondary, way after the fact reasons are more believable than information from those who had actually lived through it. But they have clinics that will help you with that.
