It's a picture of a woman who recently killed herself and her seven children in a prominent case of extended suicide.
Yeah I think its a bit of a distinction that it was a murder-suicide, not a collective suicide. The very politically active lesbian couple adopted 6 black kids to show how very multicultural they are, then after spiraling downwards into oblivion they wound up drugging the kids with heavy doses of benadryl and drugging themselves before driving off a cliff, having researched ways to 'die painlessly'.
Even around the time of the story breaking a year ago, we were already learning that the kids had been desperate and child services had visited the family after neighbors said the parents were withholding food and starving them as punishment.
The parents had fled on the road trip right as child services were starting to poke their heads around the farm/commune they were living at.
They had been very visible and prominent at political rallies where the kids were used as props to advocate for Bernie and other progressive causes, like this;

I would like to add that Devonte was crying before approaching the officer while he was talking to his guardian, presumably because he was terrified. This brings the question of coercion to my mind, but I’ll let ya’ll debate over it.”
Now with the benefit of actually knowing what was going on, pictures like that are cast in a whole different light.
The whole case begs the question of just how much of a factor the political climate and popular derangement might have played into their tragedy. There were clearly factors in their own lives like child services and maybe debt catching up with them or whatever, I mean they were living on a hobby farm with 6 kids and no real job. But given their extreme political signalling and lengths they went, its a pretty good guess that it helped foster a fatalistic and nihilistic worldview when Trump won. The psychological profile of the child-killing parents usually involves some thought process of hating the world so much you think you're sparing the kids by not letting them grow up in it.
