He was correct up until he claims that being pro gun control means that you believe that only the government should have guns. This isn't true at all.

Being pro gun control means that you only want qualified people to have guns. What "qualified" means varies from person to person. Hell, many gun control advocates don't want COPS to have guns but are okay with trained citizens having them.

Is this supposed to be a gotcha? These people aren't calling their stance "anti-gun" for a reason, they literally support what the label says: "gun control", as in "the state should hold the monopoly on the legitimate use of force".

There are damn good reasons to oppose this stance, but it is nonetheless a consistent stance.



Eh, I think you're deluding yourself if you believe that anything but "zero private gun ownership" is the endgoal of the vast majority of gun control proponents.
