I think she's the best candidate but I don't think she'll make it out of the primary. She'll get a VP nod if anything because she knows how to get legislation through Congress.

But which candidate would pick her as the VP? If a white dude like Biden/Sanders/Beto/Buttigieg becomes the nominee, they will definitely pick a person woman of color as their running mate.
If a white woman like Gillibrand or Warren wins, they will likewise pick a person of color as their running mate.

Klobuchar might only make sense in terms of gender and race balancing of the ticket if Cory or Castro wins, and or perhaaaaaps if Harris wins and doesnt mind an all-women ticket.

Conversely, if any of the white dudes wins, Harris has excellent chances of becoming the VP pick, with her only competition being Abrams.

I think you're putting too much stock into ethnicity here. IMO, Booker probably has the best message but he's got a tough battle ahead of him. Any coastal liberal should choose Klobuchar because she represents the Rust Belt and Midwest quite well. She overperforms in those regions.

I think a Klobuchar/Booker ticket (irrespective of who's P and VP nominee) would be rock solid and a great choice for Democrats. But as I have been saying for quite some time, they will end up with a Harris (P) / Beto (VP) ticket.

I dont see the Dems winning back the Senate in 2020 if Trump wins reelection (which means that the national popular vote will be below D+4, probably below D+3).
And in the House, I dont see them expanding on their current lead either. They arrived at their current lead by a national popular vote margin of D+8.6. There is no way Trump wins reelection while the Dems expand on that lead. In fact, I consider it relatively unlikely that they even retain the House at all while Trump wins reelection.

I don't think Harris will make it. She doesn't really have "it" to be perfectly honest. Beto does, but he's young and will probably have a Perry "oops" moment or a Robo Rubio moment. Booker is my dark horse pick because he has the charisma and the vision that people crave.
