Let's hope that the situation excalates as much as possible as quickly as possible. Only then will there be enough public support when Trump finally closes the border.
Unfortunately, we need really drastic pictures before (those parts of) the democratic party and (of) the liberal-leaning voters (who are still reasonable) will finally understand that the current border situation is unsustainable.

While there were just 50-60k apprehensions per month, a lot of them persons that could be deported quickly, those people who didnt WANT to believe in a border crisis could bury their heads in the sand. They need a wakeup call from reality.

wrong. trump supporters believe that there has been a border crisis all along, and that it only now is boiling over to the point where even the deniers cant close their eyes to it any longer.

I disussed this situation with someone who's centrist-leaning, and he had some interesting thoughts worth sharing. Not my thoughts, but interesting:

(many lie and claim to be mexican for a shorter return trip, btw).
