for most of 2018, we had higher oil prices and a better economic outlook. the connection is generally right, lower oil prices stimulate the world economy. but too low oil prices can be destabilizing, and atm, we're at a price of $60/gallon, which happens to also be about where the "sweet spot" lies.

Odd decision. This actually harms American oil. The only real geopolitical effect it is likely to have is to further destabilize and starve people in Venezuela.

i wouldnt want a homeless district near me either, unless i was living in a rundown area. why decrease an areas value? the city is big, just build it elsewhere

but its typical leftist policy at work here: the city council deciding on the sites of homeless shelters, and intentionally spreading them throughout the entire city. redistribution/socialization of burdens - that's textbook leftist policy.
but when it hits themselves for a change, when it's not about virtue signaling anymore and instead about enduring tangible disadvantages, these rich pseudo-progressives hire a lawyer to dodge the burden.
