This makes no sense of course. Yes, Cohen wants to lessen his prison time, and the only way to do that is to tell the truth and expose possible criminal conduct of Trump, Trump's campaign, and Trump's company. Lies aren't helpful to Mueller or SDNY.

Just look at any mob case where a guy flips. Yes, the guy was a criminal, maybe even a murderer, but his cooperation and testimony is still useful to the government.
