What ink and I are saying is all this development/gentrification is NOT creating new housing opportunities.. They are just building more expensive housing that nobody can afford and in effect are actually displacing the lower cost housing that is in place.
They are wiping out giant swaths of West cities into new expensive "affordable housing" its coded and zoned as affordable by providing a small %, 5% to be exact at a living rate.. the rest averages 3.80-5.00 a sq. foot just for RENT.
Building is not helping YET. If this is the model for affordable housing a lot of our major cities will look like Eastern block Europe and have thousands of cookie cutter apartments.
