Why can't you just be honest and address the people paying taxes paying more? Why is wanting to pay less taxes embarrassing?

I don't get a tax return, I get a big bill, and saying what you said about lessing returns and increasing government take of wages would disgust non-Trump supporting Cam from 2008. It is crazy to me that you believe citizens wanting to keep more of their money from government is embarrassing.

Anyone who actually pays income taxes already knows what withholdings and returns are and can comprehend whether they're part of the 80% of taxpayers getting a tax cut, or the 20% of SALT-shafted coastal liberals with multiple houses that got a tax hike.
And virtually every time I've seen 'muh tax returns' brought up on mainstream news outside of the propaganda outlets like TPM, its been coupled with the hosts explaining how most people are getting tax cuts and returns are down because withholdings are down.

Two people making 60k - 80k each are paying a lot more. We don't have multiple houses and I don't think most mid level earners do.

Taxes were largely cut and you are talking about tax returns being lower. yes when taxes are reduced and a few deductions were removed (that you would have described as 'loopholes' for the past 10 years) the returns are lower. The party of high taxes complaining about tax returns being lower is hilarious. its a joke.
That isnt an endorsement of higher taxes.(which is something you did on a regular basis before it hit you as the exception)
