Good question from Jonah. I'm having trouble thinking of any significant ones. Maybe NATO members increasing their defense funding? Not exactly a deal, but pressure applied and results achieved.

Thoughts Trumpists?

first drops of pee slowly but surely falling on the moderate racist's parade:

Senate has uncovered no direct evidence of conspiracy between Trump campaign and Russia

Senate intel isn't equipped to investigate this matter like federal prosecutors and the FBI. I also won't be surprised if the case for conspiracy isn't based more on circumstantial evidence, because we're never going to extradite Kilimnik or any other Russians. I also wonder how willing the government will be in compromising sources and methods in order to prosecute certain individuals.

Trump is tougher on Russia than Obama by any objective measure. No need to be mentally ill about it.

Policy wise Trump has been fairly tough on Russia, but rhetorically he's been a wilted flower. That's still a mystery to me...Trump can lash out against basically anyone, but the one area where he's stayed disciplined is on Putin.

Some more realistic form of kompromat is most likely. I don't think the other theories adequately explain Trump's affinity for Putin.

Did you see Helsinki? He looked like Putin's bitch.

in what regard? the sanctions against them were forced upon trump, he did not demand or initiate them, he spoke out against them several times, and he even defied congress for months before finally implementing them. he also publicly announced several times that he'd consider lifting them for small concessions on syria or ukraine for example.

i know the "trump has been tough on russia" talking point is quite popular amongst apologists, but i'm really interested to learn how YOU think he was.

keep in mind he is often at odds with his own administration over matters concerning russia, he's been opposed every step of the way to act against russia and the actions his administration have taken weren't initiated by him - but tbh he doesn't look like one to initiate much of anything

Helsinki was bad. he looked like a middle schooler following around the popular kid. Sad times.
