It is a connected issue, given that it is all part of Palestinian resistance. No country would find it acceptable if another country started setting up illegal settlements in its territory and that resulted in the displacement of their citizens and destruction of their own structures.
If your barometer is "We're nothing like Hamas", then Israel will continue to justify its own human rights violations ad nauseum.
while that's true ive heard a lot in the past few weeks "israel blames hamas, but look at the west bank where there is no hamas, so really it's an israel problem".
violence sparked up big time in 2022 in the West Bank compared to a previous dying down, and there were 146 west bank arabs killed. 146 out of 2.8 million population. so a far more dire violent situation there resulted in a comparatively very small level of deaths. israel has surely killed 146+ people with a single bomb in gaza since this started. the situations are really hard to compare because the issues and grievances are so different. in the west bank the people rightfully back a govt that is both far more legitimate and far more willing to work with israel. there are green zones israel occupies, yellow zones israel will enter, and red zones they do not enter. all of gaza is a red zone. the main issue in west bank are settlements (bad bad bad imo and so unnecessary of an own goal by israel) and the blockade in gaze (100% necessary imo).
but really this has been the crux of intersectional coalitions in politics forever. multi faceted parties make common cause and very different issues muddy the waters so much that specific action becomes hard. that said israel should stop settlements because its by far the easiest injustice to correct. and would make a very fine olive branch for the Palestine govt in west bank to hopefully help them in Gaza.
