There definitely is an emergency on the border. Maybe not to you, but theres definitely a humanitarian crisis on the border that requires additional resources to be dealt with. Coyotes, people getting hospitalized/starving/dehydrated, kids getting sent to travel to America alone. Caravans that force their way throigh checkpoints. And yes, in some cases, some potentially bad people. It's something that needs to be solved. Additionally more people are being sent. At the current rate, it's expected to reach 800,000+ per year. With that, we already have several million illegal immigrants in the country which does carry issues.
On top of that, we have overwhelmed immigration courts with over 1,000,000 backlogged cases where the wait time for a hearing is 2.5 years. And then we have government officials (congress) that try to prevent branches of the government from being able to properly do their jobs (ICE, CBP) by not only failing to provide proper funding but even going further by cutting additional funding. Detention centers at far over maximum occupancy for housing immigrants until they can be deported.

I disagree. I would say a large portion are neither racist nor do they oppose immigration. It's not that the majority of the people oppose immigration, its that they just don't want illegal immigration, they want a sound system that makes sense and has order.
