The main difference is that Trump actually had a good agenda, an agenda which was actually appealing to not just far-right nutjobs but also to quite some moderates and swing voters.

AOC's agenda, by contrast, would be highly unpopular once she has to spell out how she intends on paying for all of it (ie: the most drastic tax hike in history).

A federal jobs guarantee, abolishing ICE, a carbon-free economy by 2030 - all those things are already very unopular with the broader public as is, and they would get even more unpopular when people realize the fiscal and social costs of those pipe dreams.
