As things are standing right now, AOC
is the future of the Democratic party. And it's not like she is the only one, there's also the two hijab girlies and ayana pressley or whatever her name is - AOC is just the most prominent and the most media-savvy out of the bunch. But even if we all stopped talking about her, there would be others in her mold to take up the mantle of unabashed socialism.
And let's not forget that AOC is energizing the left just as much as she's terrifying the right. Why do you think Speaker Pelosi changed the rules of Congress to give AOC, a clueless freshman, two high-profile committee assignments, while normal congressmen take at least 3 cycles to land just one good committee?
She's a lightning rod for the right and a rallying call for the left at the same time, and this is why she's having such an astounding media presence and why the entire country seems to be obsessed with her one way or the other.
