Hes not parroting. He understood Shapiro’s argument and used it to make a marginal cost decision based on the price of two alternatives.
Yes im being hyperbolic genius. when i say parrot, i dont mean literally saying phrases word for word verbatim. what i mean is someone who repeats arguments and each of their facets. when you're talking to GLY about the border wall you might as well be talking to Ben Shapiro. "Israel has a great wall, the federal budget is so big that we spend this much all the time, tunnels are a joke of a conversation i dont need to address with actual facts, and anyone who doesnt want a wall is just anti-trump". it's a carbon copy of the argument.
this happens to all of us, and the smart ones credit the better person who came up with it. when i want to source shapiro's argument verbatim i usually say something like "shapiro said on his show yesterday, and he's right, ______" rather than lazily trying to pawn them off as my own thoughts.
you've just missed the mark. while i dont agree with shapiro i'm not criticizing his argument entirely (just addressing biases and logical mistakes as a cherry on top), i'm laughing while pointing out this weeks clone. we get a shapiro clone all the time, they either adapt or leave.
