a lot of Americans prefer a corrupt clown who mostly tries do pursue policies they like over an "adult" who would be competent - competent at implementing an agenda they abso-fucking-lutely loathe. I think this is an understandable attitude, even if you disagree with it.

It's only reasonable if you are ignorant of how the world works and think Joe is a genuine communist and not a life long centrist.

The people you are describing fall firmly in the "too ignorant" category.
