The people who are voting Harris think their life is fine right now(imagine that) and the people voting Trump think he may be able to get control back of a few things like "immigration/no more wars/etc.)

I think the actual numbers are 70% Trump and 30% Kamala and they tell you she's up or it's even. It's for sure 60-40 amirite?

I'm from Chicago and even people around here know Kamala is "not smart" and can't elaborate on "her policies" without their script/teleprompter telling her what to say. She's dumber then Biden and that's why the Dems know it's over.

If you think the average American wasn't conscious to see Kamala was a nobody and then under Biden an even bigger nobody to then be thrust into a unabated democrat frontrunner nominee like she was Princess Diana herself? What a joke. I can't believe people still believe in politics. New boss same as the old boss. Even if Trump gets in he'll still have trouble in the swamp of DC(even with RFK and others).

Partisanship is one hell of a drug. A ton of voters consciously or subconsciously know that Kamala is mediocre windbag, but will still vote for her because they prefer Democratic policies over Republican ones. Just like a ton of voters on the right are willing to forgive Trump a ton of shit because they prefer his policies over those of Democrats.

&& that's a big part of the problem with identity politics. I'm from Chicago where its supposedly "full on democrat" but if you ask people about issues/policies they will always be on both sides hands down. The average democrat is no different the average republican only the circus makes it any different.

I always found it funny how all citizens are "Americans" and want virtually the same things yet they paint us in red and blue and tell us were suppose to hate each other.

Politics itself is one hell of a drug. Only someone who lies to themselves daily believes there's someone in a suit in DC representing your best interest lol :P

edit: Trump getting back into the White House is like Shohei Ohtani potentially pitching again next year. Could be good could be bad. Yet people play it all the way up to the level of "do or die"

Is Trumps business record not worrying for potential voters?

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2024/sep/26/lucky-loser-review-how-donald-trump-squandered-his-wealth

"Donald Trump started his career at the end of the 1970s, financed by his father Fred Trump. Over the years this transfer of wealth added up to around $500m in today’s money in gifts. My rough calculations say that, had he simply taken the money, leveraged it not imprudently, and passively invested it in Manhattan real estate – gone to parties, womanised, played golf, collected his rent cheques and reinvested them – his fortune could have amounted to more than $80bn by the time he ascended to the presidency in 2017.

And yet Trump was not worth $80bn in 2017. Instead, Forbes pegged him at $2.5bn – which, given the difficulties of valuing and accounting for real estate, is really anything between $5bn (£4bn) and zero (or less). "
