Did the rate of death from cancer or HIV increase at the break neck speed of corona?

The ingredients may be cheap but the research costs money. People that invest their money in research should be rewarded, otherwise you destroy the engine that gives us these cures.

i mean for HIV yes its a fairly good social epidemic comparison, but the drugs werent around during peak hysteria. if they were available u can bet your ass they would have been gouged to hell.

the part no one has said i dont think is that hysteria itself creates enough demand that gouging can be justified. just as testing was flooded the market will see an equal flood of people wanting vaccines.

and sure, expedited production and investment in development does justify some gouging over simple material costs. but they'll take the mile, not the inch. no matter for many people are watching.

So are they going to be available to everyone or are the R&D companies going to get paid for their research?

I will admit things are a little bit different because this disease is killing people that the government cares about.

I don't think it is because HIV was always deadly so people kind of accepted that compared to corona which until a few months ago was no worse than the common cold. It's not as if HIV went from a .02% percent death rate to 50x over a few months, if that would of happened we would of been panicking similarly to the corona.

Nobody cared about HIV because it had the perception of it affecting gay people. It was not until Ryan white died that anybody gave a shit about it.

Ronald Reagan ignored aids because it primarily affected gay people.

During the black crack epidemic they said just say no.

During the white heroin epidemic the expanded medicaid and gave everyone suboxone.

The responses are very different and based on the populations.

HIV was actually far worse because it took a LONG LONG time before we even knew what was causing it. Prior to the understanding that HIV was one disease it was also several separate symptoms some of which were known to be deadly, like the susceptibility to tuberculosis and other opportunistic infections.

Always the SJW trying to find some hidden reason why the way things were is because of oppression.


HIV treatments advanced as medical technology & research advanced, no need for 4 D causes when the simple explanation is so much better.

It really only takes a rudimentary understanding of the history surrounding HIV to understand it's association with the homosexual community, and the myriad people calling it "nature fighting back against the unnatural".

Apparently you're just too fucking stupid to see obvious patterns.

Dumbfuck, we had rich white folks dying from cancer in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s yet the big advancements didn't happen until more recently? Kind of like the HIV treatments?

See a pattern of how as medical tech and research got better as time went on we got better at treating pretty much everything?
