I thought we could get a deal that is slightly worse than what we currently have but it would be worth it to keep immigrants out.

However Theresa The Appeaser thought otherwise and negotiated like a kid in a sweet shop, so the economic impact would be far worse. In which case it will hurt the UK but it will also hurt the EU (17% of EU's GDP is the UK and we are the 2nd largest economy in the EU).

Realistic options in terms of how much I desire them: Hard brexit, remain, somewhere in between.

Hmm the first sentence is important so I've removed the longer reply on the last. Shorty, time limit and how Brexit initiated, is the achilles heel in receiving something satisfying. (UK= important economy for the EU, mostly interwoven with the Dutch economy, we will feel the hurt. Yet I approve of the option to leave if you want.

Better questions I lack the knowledge about:

How much of this Brexit was voted for because ppl want to reduce immigration? And is that even possible without physical barriers in North Ireland ? I'll not completely ask how that would completely look like unless you have an inspiring day to go all out on d2jsp ofc :D

/e And fuck m8.. How is having no trade deals with the world the best?

Immigration was the number one issued that caused the Brexit vote. Sovereignty and laws being made in the EU is a close second. It' might be possible to have a hard border with the EU but an open one with Ireland, but it would require experimental technology and incur huge costs.

We want to trade with the world without having the EU dictate everything to us. I wouldn't trust Juncker or any of them lot to run a lemonade stand let alone the EU!

As expected for a long time but not often verbalized. Thing is though going back to the achilles heel of the deadline: You don't have the trade deals with the rest of the world if you want to go for a hard Brexit, those cannot be made in 2 months. How is this even an option ?

Well, they predicted Hillary to win the national popular vote by 4, she won it by 2 in the end. A 2% polling error isnt too bad. Their real mistake was not wanting to see that the electoral college was actually favoring Trump and not Hillary.

Anyway, I wouldnt read too much into polls which are conducted during a particularly negative or positive news cycle. The story of the moment is "omg, the brexit process is a huge mess, and omg, what a disaster a hard brexit would be". When both sides have a couple of weeks to campaign for their cause, and voters have some time to properly assess the pros and cons of the options on the table, the result would most likely be a smaller lead for remain than what this poll shows.
