of course it is real, but the extent that has to be expected is still not entirely clear; and what to do about it is something that isnt being discussed yet.

just to name an example, here in Germany, our braindead government has worked out a plan to shut down all our national coal power plants over the next 17 years - but they dont have a plan yet on how to replace those capacities which will be removed. in the end, we will probably import power produced in much less "clean" coal power plants in eastern europe, or nuclear energy produced in highly insecure power plants next to our border.

and of course our 20 or so coal power plants will be a drop in the ocean compared to the over 1400 coal power plants currently planned in china and india.

meanwhile, the green party and their heralds in our media shill for even more subsidies for solar power. so they want to shut down relatively modern coal power stations here and replace them with solar power in cloudy, rainy Germany, while tons of new and less clean/modern coal stations will go on stream in sunny india over the same timeframe.

it's really the total idiocy and incompetence. it's a textbook example of politics for the "feelz".

is it really?
but....but we have to save the world by saving tiny bits of our <2% global CO2 emission share with idiot measures that will cause MORE emissions somewhere else on the planet

for most of them yes, but they are plenty of people pushing this agenda who cant possibly that stupid
angela merkel should be one of them
in case physics degrees in old eastern germany we not awarded by lottery she simply has to know that the current stupidity cant work
of course a specialist for socialist propaganda and agitation cant be bothered by facts, but thats another story

i think we are at a point, where its about deliberate deindustrialisation and restricting personal freedom of energy use and mobility

in case you are interested here is an article about how we dodged complete collapse of our energy supply and how industrial capacities are constantly shut down to prevent a collapse
https://www.tichyseinblick.de/kolumnen/lichtblicke-kolumnen/deutschland-fast-ohne-strom/

but hey, lets get rid of our coal plants as well
we should start hoarding candles and wood, just in case

nice whataboutism / false equivalence combo, but some extreme weather events (including COLD spells) and particularly their (well documented) increasing occurence ARE indeed linked to manmade climate change.
i'm not an expert on alpine snowfall patterns, but heavy snows in the winter don't seem unusual to me at first glance - so they would have to document an unusual cumulation or severity to even talk about it in a context of climate change. then again, i haven't seen any of those articles, meaning i'll refrain from judging 'the german press' solely based on a claim you made - so please link me some of the articles where 'THE GERMAN PRESS' falsely links it to climate change. also, i'd be interested to learn what you think the "cause" is that they're trying to "help" by reporting falsely about it.

one minute of using the well known internet searching machine yourself for once.....
i will help you with one

there were days, when snow in the mountains was simply called winter, but the apocalyptical climate cult cant have that

I've talked to a half dozen liberals who have tried to explain to me today how this cold snap was caused by climate change, to my repeated face palms.
My go-to line for shutting down people who don't understand climate change but insist on having strong opinions on it is to simply ask them if they understand the difference between adaptation and mitigation and how the government tackles each, without googling it. If they can't pass that minimum bar, they can go sit in a corner or something. I think I might get the right answer one out of ten times. Most of them have no clue what the USACE is to begin with.

I personally think it is partially caused by changes in climate. The increasing particulate matter in the atmosphere seems to intensify the extremes of temperature both hot and cold.

one minute on google and you found 'the german press' being climate alarmists and making ridiculous and unscientific assumptions about snow in the winter an article quoting a scientist from the well respected potsdam institute for climate impact research explaining how climate change COULD have contributed to the massive snow falls, detailing how a warming atmosphere and increased humidity can impact precipitation in mountainous regions.

that is definitely the same level of retardation as suggesting cold weather disproves global warming. great job, poo boy...

He wouldn't have run if the Democrats weren't so extreme. Their party needs to be destroyed and rebuilt because right now its Soros' bitch.

Brian's argument is that Trump voters are an exclusive cult. It was a stupid argument.

no it's not. you completely made up the 'exclusive' part. 'cult' is not so much a reference to the exclusiveness, but more to the blind devotion and obedience that his loyal followers display - regardless of broken promises, blatant lies, hypocrisy, and obvious incompetence.
it's a well known fact that 25-30% of americans are stupid enough to uncritically support him no matter what - combine that with a significant portion of voters who'd vote for anyone who has that magic (R) next to their name, because it's just their 'team', it makes almost every election close enough for the EC to swing it in favour of republicans (sometimes the SC has to help a little, conservatives are as principled about states' rights as they are about deficits), cementing its function of facilitating a tyranny of the minority...
