jefferson lived at a time when the readership of newspapers was too small to justify even attempting fake news. he probably couldnt imagine a time in which large parts of the media are blatantly biased (in either direction!) and pushing a specific ideological agenda.

when it comes to trump and the fake news accusation: he is overutilizing and weaponizing the fake news accusation, but this does not, in turn, prove that fake news dont exist at all. they are very real, examples are constantly posted in this thread and elsewhere.


so at the end of the day, trump is both right and wrong. right in that fake news media is a widespread phenomenom, is a serious problem for our democracy and is mostly biased against him. (they outnumber fox news by a ratio of 3:1 or smth.)
he is wrong in the sense that there are ample of valid criticisms and lines of attack against him, and that not every critical report about him or his administration is fabricated fake news, or of malicious intent.

he isn't against fake news he has psychological deficiencies and supports lies that are positive about him from his right wing sources

this was never an honorable pursuit this was a troubled President that can't stand negative criticism to a degree we rarely get to see for this length of time as they are typically mocked out of the conversation

He has been selling negative news as the enemy of the people and for people like you to go oh uh he is part right and part wrong are not any better in the end than the straight up maga memers

I dont go around smearing people when they make an argument i don't like.
I have no problem accurately taking shots at people and accurately describing the contents of their posts when they demonize me and attack my character for disagreeing with them.

do you think a conman with a history of lies, scams and fraud cares? or do you think the people that support him despite his history of lies, scams and fraud cares? it's why the came up with TDS to avoid having to acknowledge they've elected a man who'll probably end up in the guiness book of world records for the amount of lies he's told as president - at which point that book too will become fake news
