we have all sorts of issues with regional echochambers for stuff like common phrases.

the ones that irk me are the incorrect ones, just misheard stuff.

but we also have these weird sayings from the south that are borderline non-nonsensical to us northerners. or worse yet the bastardized one's, like "i'll be there in 3 shakes of a coon's tail" derived from "3 shakes of a lamb's tail". Lamb's shake their tails quite often, coon's don't, but coon tail hats were popular, so people squashed the two sayings together. just odd....

while we're on the fucking subject i have a love/hate relationship with reading Scottish peoples' twitter posts. "te" can mean "to" or "the", it seems, among 27 other things im sure. and that's just the tip of the iceberg. i dont want to read Welsh twitter, im not sure i could make heads nor tails of any of it.

Can't say I've trawled through Scottish or Welsh twitter. The main misspoken phrase I've noticed Americans say is 'I could care less' instead of 'I couldn't care less'

Let's check in on the President after a rough Friday

Have a great new week Mr. President

What did you expect from him though? He had just suffered the most bitter and humiliating loss of his political career - of course someone like Trump would try to come back from this with fire and conviction instead of behaving like a beaten down dog? (Uh, does this metaphor even exist in English?)

I dont know if his combative tone is his true mood or just a show for twitter, but it is definitely the right way for him to move on. Did you seriously expect him to resignate and succumb to the idea that he's already done and will receive an inevitable thrashing at the ballot box in 2020, so that he shall better call it quits already and go golfing for the remaining 2 years of his term?

Trump is the kind of person who, if he goes down, will go down fighting until the very last second. He just needs to finally smarten up and think of a strategy before rushing into high-stakes public battles without a plan or leverage.

Uhh... he's a whiny bitch on twitter every day. This is just who he is... it doesn't matter if he's winning or losing.

Believe it or not, there's those of us who will not normalize his personality disorders.

Also, it is sort of funny how the longer we're subject to a Trump presidency, the more the Trump cult(and supporters) agree with the characterization the rest of us had of him during the campaign. It's revisionist history to pretend you all thought he was as bad as you now admit.

Trump might think it's still 2016 and his supporters might think that but the reality is unless he gets his shit together 2020 isn't going to be pretty for him

It's easy to get away with being a blow hard when you don't have a record to examine. He has a record, he is a politician, people want results. False claims and extreme exaggerations aren't nearly as effective when the people that matter (moderates) now have something to base a decision on other than benefit of the doubt
