This election makes it crystal clear that the American public is either not informed enough or interested enough to keep their leaders in check.

In an ideal world Trump would have gotten voted out 99 to 1 as everybody sees and acknowledges he is the most corrupt president in our history.

Instead it's 50/50 as the country can barely decide between a competent adult and corrupt clown.

Fine, let me rephrase: perhaps these voters weigh their dislike of the policies a Biden/Harris administration would bring higher than their dislike of Trump's shitty behavior, particularly in the context of Trump delivering a lot of small "wins" for them in spite of his personality and ineptitude.
