FDR tried to keep the US out of ww2, but the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor left him no choice. obviously, the 35% of GDP on military spending was a direct consequence of the war which was forced upon him. :rolleyes:
Fdr knew that he would eventually need to join the war. He knew a pearl-harbor-like event was coming and he planned to use it as an excuse to go to war.
The economic comparisons to hitler are probably the funniest part. Makes you wonder why they were so similar in that way.
