Can I point out for a second that Donald Trump waited something like 72 hours before wading into a cultural flashpoint, giving him enough time to see how the facts panned out before he staked out a position?

Considering it only benefited him to wait given initial reports it's not like he made a moral or calculated decision given its starting point.
