Corn was actually always a terribly inefficient fuel source. Switchgrass and sugar cane are both better, but both our laws and the cost prevent them from being viable at this time.

Not sure about unethical, but definitely primitive. It just doesn't make sense. The amount of fermentable carbohydrates in corn is abysmally low. Why would anyone ever pick that as a fuel source? The only reason why it is even possible is because the government throws billions of dollars at it in subsidies.
