Reparations for what? Blacks were happier during slavery days! What about the whites getting 13/50'd by them nowadays - give us an inch, we take a mile. :wallbash:

Massachusetts Town Will Seed $220K to Begin Reparations for Black Residents
BY REBECCA KLAPPER ON 6/24/21 AT 2:09 PM EDT

Massachusetts town council approved a fund to pay reparations to Black residents to atone for slavery, discrimination and past wrongs, which several town officials suggested an initial seed investment of more than $200,000 from surplus budget funds.

The Amherst Town Council voted 12-1 in favor of establishing the fund on Monday, the Daily Hampshire Gazette reported. A two-thirds vote of the council is required to authorize any spending from it.

Amherst Town Manager Paul Bockelman and other town officials were the ones to suggest the allocation of surplus funds as an initial seed investment into the reparations fund.

Michele Miller, cofounder of Reparations for Amherst, a local advocacy group that pushed for the fund, said her group hopes to establish a private fund to help the town's efforts.

"We look forward to supporting the African Heritage Community to implement a robust and sustainable reparative plan," Miller said.

She invariably fails to understand that societies run by Whites thrive and those run by Blacks and their White libshit allies fail, which is why our white Republican brethren had to curtail this bill in response to the self-loathing white Democrats' penchant for destroying America.

-----

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Thursday criticized an all-white group of senators who reached a bipartisan deal on infrastructure legislation, pointing out the group's lack of diversity and arguing it excluded marginalized communities.

"The diversity of this 'bipartisan coalition' pretty perfectly conveys which communities get centered and which get left behind when leaders prioritize bipartisan dealmaking over inclusive lawmaking (which prioritizes delivering the most impact possible for the most people)," the New York Democrat tweeted alongside a photo of the group of lawmakers with President Joe Biden outside the White House on Thursday.

The senators who led the infrastructure negotiations with Biden include five Republicans and five Democrats. The GOP senators are Sens. Mitt Romney of Utah, Rob Portman of Ohio, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska. The Democrats are Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Jon Tester of Montana, Mark Warner of Virginia, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona.

"This is why a bipartisan [package] alone isn't acceptable," Ocasio-Cortez went on to say. "The exclusion & denial of our communities is what DC bipartisan deals require. That's how you get GOP on board: don't do much/any for the working class & low income, or women, or poc communities, or unions, etc. We must do more."

The progressive firebrand has repeatedly cautioned in the past that communities of color and other marginalized groups get left behind in the pursuit of bipartisanship.

seems silly to assume the package will exclude POCs, when in reality the worst roads are in urban areas and will be targeted first, as well as the worst quality water systems, etc.

now if the package outright doesnt give money to Flynt MI, ok, she's right.

Tim Scott represents South Carolina, which is majority white. Is he a "black only" Senator for that state?

Her thought process isn't just ridiculous, it's incredibly racist. She should be condemned and stripped of her committee assignments.

on another note why does she (along with Ilhan Omar, VP Harris, and Don Lemon, among others) give aid and comfort to the very people she calls the “enemy” or whatever (white male) soon as she goes home

One of the frontline white heroes fighting against anti-white indoctrination in our schools.

---

After months of increasingly divisive rhetoric reached a tipping point Tuesday night when a School Board public comment session was abruptly halted, and two audience members were detained by county deputies.

Contentious input sessions have been staples of the School Board’s bi-monthly meetings for more than a year as a vocal group of parents criticized the pandemic school closures. In recent months, those speeches have focused on the school division’s equity initiatives and the proposed adoption of a state-mandated policy concerning the rights of transgender students.

The latter was the featured topic on Tuesday’s meeting agenda.

The meeting room was packed with speakers supporting a proposed policy for transgender students and critics who oppose that policy and the school division’s equity programs.

Nearly 250 had signed up to speak during the public comment period.

Chairwoman Brenda Sheridan (Sterling) repeatedly warned the audience to refrain from cheering or clapping during the comment session—which, with each speaker allotted one minute to talk, was expected to take four hours. After one outburst, she called a brief recess. The session resumed until, following remarks by former state senator Dick Black criticizing the board’s actions, the crowd erupted again.

Atoosa Reeser (Algonkian) made a motion to end public comment, approved by a unanimous board vote. After board members left the dais, members of the crowd and began to chant “shame on you.”

The crowd formed a line to continue with an informal public comment, butdeputies were called to clear the room.

A second man was arrested after getting into an altercation with another audience member and then a scuffle with deputies. He was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He and one other audience member were treated for minor injuries.

The School Board resumed its meeting about 30 minutes later with only school staff and media in the room.
