He was not a starting quarterback. That's just a fact. He was a 2nd string quarterback when he started his protest. Teams don't want distractions for 2nd stringers (see Tim Tebow).

Kneeling during the anthem is controversial, and Kaepernick has done nothing to assuage concerns that he despises the United States. Fans are opinionated, and a Che loving mediocre quarterback is going to struggle for interest.

Broncos offered him 7 million dollars and he said no to them. He was very obviously going to be a backup somewhere but he thought more of himself and waited out until he was out of the NFL for years. At that point your chances of coming back drop precipitously.

I mean just look at what's happening with someone like Antonio Brown, a player of a much higher caliber and what happens when you act like a premadonna and demand more money than teams are willing to pay.
