My mistake, you said the Khan situation probably helped him. You're making the argument that making negative statements about a gold star family was applauded by some Trump supporters.

the DNC dragging some gold star family out to yell at Trump and say that under his policies their son would be not allowed in America or whatever absurd point he made during his rant (wrong - Captain Khan was a U.S citizen already, we don't deport citizens of the country) instead of focusing on the Bush wars of establishment aggression and expansion which cost Captain Khan his life and which (C)linton voted for?

it was an obviously ploy and instead of apologizing for it (like how McCain went around apologizing on behalf of President Obama's parents for giving him the middle name Hussein) Trump just swung back like he had been all summer. no it wasn't smart, and no it didn't cost him any votes that were already firmly voting for him. and no, it didn't matter in the end.

e: Captain Khan wasn't born here but was a U.S. citizen already

not to jump back in, but i'd make the argument that id didn't hurt him on average. that's the important factor, that for every one person who leaves because of an act one needs to come in. Sure he hurt some verteran's feelings when he wen't after the Khans, then he said Mrs. Khan prob wasn't allowed to speak because of her religion, and for every vet who left someone who hates islam jumped in.

For every person who was upset that Trump called Machado Mrs. Piggy there was one who sniggered at him calling her Mrs. Housekeeping, or worse yet an idealistic conservative woman who thinks women in beauty pageants should be an unrealistic bar for young women to aim for.

or that people who enter into professions based on looks shouldn't be shocked when people make judgements based on looks?
for instance if i enter a profession based on my ability to do math, i suck at math, and some nerd says im shitty at math, do i cry to Hillary (C)linton about it?

note that i don't defend demeaning insults but those allegations were never proven. "he called me names" is not proof. guess whatt - Machado called me a racial slur, prove otherwise.

1. she was never not hot. she thinkened up a bit, but if you wouldnt tear into her even when she was at her biggest i name u a liar.

2. "not proven", pls. Trump didn't even bother to deny the charges.

i mean, i'm not even gonna say the Machado chapter was a disqualifying thing. it was crass that's all, but lets try to distort reality. If you've read Trump's twitter feed and think he'd have a tough time calling a woman those names i honestly don't know what to say, he's an insult machine.

oh for sure - more cushion for the pushin!!!!!!!!!! plus the accent
i dont take denials from presidents too seriously since the time Bill pointed into the camera and insisted he didn't have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.

I think my favorite part of a Trump presidency is going to be watching the tables turn for another 4-8 years.

The right has hammered Obama every chance they got and laid every failure he's had at the feet of the voters.

I'm not prejudging Trump's presidency, he could overall be a good POTUS, but every single one of his failures will be continually laid at the feet of the Trumpets. It will be fun to watch power vacuums around the globe blamed on Trump. Drone strikes that kill children blamed on Trump. Disabled veterans that die from a lack of healthcare and a lack of veteran care to back it up. Tarrifs to pay for walls that cost everyone. The war on crime continued without much CJ reform, an issue that has bilateral support.

maybe some of these will never come to pass, maybe all, but it will be fun to watch the GOP on the defensive instead of being backseat drivers.
