It's buried underneath the fact that Hillary supporters are mostly grown ups who have better shit to do than dedicate a year of their life to a political candidate, I'd imagine.

My wifes parents live in chicago and are die hard progressives.

They're actually not voting this year since bernie dropped out.my mother in law used to have a "ready for H" sticker on her car too.
They're visiting in august and I'm going to ask why they're not voting anymore, the gist of it is that, "I don't trust her"

Don't trust her to do what? She is about as predictable as a politician gets. I don't really hear the trust thing much when it comes to white males tbh. Obama was some secret terrorist loving muslim and Clinton is the most untrustworthy person alive.

Acting like she is somehow less trustworthy than trump is pretty hilarious and from what I've seen a lot of the people that go overboard about her being not trustworthy are the same types of folks that worry about that red button being pressed once a month if a woman gets in there

We had incredibly shady shit shoved down our throats for 8 years with the bush administration and all I heard was patriotism but when a less shady Obama and Clinton come around the sky is falling

In your wife's parent's case it sounds like they drank the sanders kool-aid because clinton hasn't changed much. Still the same pandering voice changing pragmatic moderate corporatist she has always been

They were never comparing her trustworthiness with Trump.
My mother-in-law simply said I just don't trust her and that was before the primaries even began before Bernie Sanders was even a figure. I actually think it was around the time the Benghazi hearings came out and then within a couple months the emails came out of her private server. , that's when they said that is don't trust her.

Not that it matters they live in Chicago going to go Blue anyway and they don't plan on voting this year

And just so you know how Progressive they really are they actually have a painting of President Obama in their living room framed

Obama also hasn't been a very transparent public official. When he entered office in 2008, he pledged to lead the most transparent presidency ever.

Unfortunately, his administration has continued some of the shady practices that George W. Bush practiced, and he also overlooked one of the least transparent and questionable State Departments ever from 2009-2013.

I, for one, challenge my leadership to be more trustworthy and transparent. It doesn't make me feel any better to know that all politicians are corrupt and so Hillary's scandals are just par for the course.

Accepting a certain amount of corruption and shadiness in American politics should never be our default option simply because it is so common. We must vigorously challenge and demand our leadership and public officials to be transparent and trustworthy.

I think it's humorous that people respond to my posts by making fun of Bernie Sanders in instances where I literally make no mention of him.

It's so obvious that this subforum desperately craves a de facto and vocal Bernie Sanders advocate so that they can have a personal outlet to criticize him and poke fun at his supporters.

If it's a practice that is good for people's mental health and sanity, perhaps it is a role I should more willingly embrace.

Just admit it: this place was a lot more fun before Bernie was officialy eliminated from contention. Now that he lost and many of his supporters are gone or not talking about him as much, we only have one more group of passionate voters who are easy pickings: Trump supporters.

In any case, Sanders did not wish to overthrow the government. In fact, he wanted the opposite. He wished to expand government. If there's any movement that actually strives to overthrow the government, it's likely one with libertarian roots.

You're in denial. You made at least couple topics making fun of Bernie Sanders. Remember how he completely embarassed himself on Univision? You enjoyed that. Or at the very least, it piqued your interest enough to make a topic about it.
